Having the opportunity to live with an insan kamil, with a perfected human being, during one’s lifetime is a great blessing for one’s life and an opportunity that is very rare in this world. Not many people have the opportunity to live with an exalted being. Having had that opportunity and, of course, many people in our group having had that opportunity, one has to delve on: what is it that makes an exalted being that way? What is it that he does that separates him from other beings? What is it that is different about him? What is it that makes it self-evident that he is something special, something unique, that he is close to divinity?
I watched, for a long time, and I remember when I first came to him a question was asked, “How do you know that you’re with a wise man?”
