#141 Connecting to the Soul

In this world, if we look closely, we see a constant cycle, a cycle of destruction and rebirth. A cycle of growth and a cycle of decline. The rising up and the falling down, creation and destruction. We see opposites and in the midst of all this rising and falling and creating and destroying and birth and death we are affected by it on an emotional, physical and spiritual level. It impacts us.

It’s interesting how some specific instances of birth and death have so much greater impact on us than other instances of birth and death. If you look at the obituary section of the newspaper, you realize that death is going on en masse every day. If you watch television, or listen to the radio, or read the newspaper, they are reporting a constant state of destruction of things around the world. War. Famine. Drought. Terrible tsunamis, typhoons, hurricanes, tornados, a constant mix of elemental eruptions and elemental tragedies. Tragedies across the world may not have the same effect on us as tragedies near us. But depending on our state of sensitivity we get affected by these things depending upon how much empathy we have with that which is in the process of destruction.

It begins with our family. Many of us have great empathy with our parents and with our immediate family. When a birth or death happens within our immediate family, we go through a state of joy and/or sadness. If we’ve got a few years on us, we have watched this recurrent theme joy, and sadness, joy and sadness. Sometimes sadness stays longer. Sometimes joy stays longer. Sometimes sadness doesn’t disappear. Joy, for most, almost always seems to disappear.

We were created to be joyous. We were created to resplend. We were created to become light beings which transcend the birth and destruction that we constantly see within the world.

Imagine transcending the ups and downs in creation. Transcending the growth and the fall. Transcending the rise and the decline. Not being attached to the rise and the decline. Not being affected by the destruction that we see. Not being affected by that which has been constantly affecting us through our entire existence. Imagine not being affected by the external circumstances that are part of creation, and not seeing them as happy or sad or as tumultuous and incredibly overwhelming to the point where we can’t handle them, but seeing them as the nature of the way things are, and transcending the nature of the way things are, understanding that creation is in one place and it is elemental and it has certain properties but light is in another place and it has different properties.

If you apply the standards that exist in the light world to yourself and you can somehow incorporate those standards into yourself, then you can somehow bypass the tumultuous chaotic nature of existence. You can shift who you are. You can take yourself from being enmeshed in the push and pull reactive nature of the physical atomic world we life in and put yourself into the light world which is your eternal home.
