There’s always a lot of talk about the illusory nature of existence and entering reality. Well, they’re nice words, but do they have any meaning? And what in fact do they mean? What’s illusory mean? What’s reality mean?
If somebody came up to me 30 or 40 years ago and said, “You must enter reality,” I would think they were probably a little crazy. And I’m not quite sure how I would have reacted to them.
Well, to be grounded in reality, we have to have some idea where it is we are trying to get grounded. And if we are trying to leave the illusory world, we have to have some idea of what’s illusory.
In the Asma’ul Husna, the book that sets forth the ninety-nine names of God, one of the names of God is Ya Haqq. And Ya Haqq or Haqq is usually translated as reality. So, that’s a hint. God is real. But there are additional explanatory definitions for it, the Just, the Dutiful.
That God, no matter what difficulties and situations are thrown at Him from His creation, He always is in a perfect state of serenity and peace. Well, that’s another hint. Haqq is always in a perfect state of serenity and peace. Reality is in a state of serenity and peace.
